This is an entertaining and enlightening look at the life of an immigrant as recorded in his personal diary. Though the writing isn't always polished, it feels "real" and is quite engaging. The author's account of his shy, grad school attraction to another student is particularly sweet and funny. Overall, the reader is left with a greater understanding of and appreciation for the types of challenges faced by the newest Americans. --
