Navy Seal's Account of Bin Laden Raid & Execution Becomes #1 Bestseller on Kindle

A Navy Seal writing under the pseudonym "Mark Owen" has published his first hand account of the raid on Bin Laden's compound in Pakistan and his execution by the United States special commandos. The book, which became available for sales today at Amazon.com has risen to the #1 sales spot among both printed and digital books (Kindle) at Amazon. The demand of the book ended up stripping Amazon of the inventory of the hard cover copies, which are now show that they will be "In stock on September 8, 2012."

The book description claims "For the first time anywhere, the first-person account of the planning and execution of the Bin Laden raid from a Navy Seal who confronted the terrorist mastermind and witnessed his final moment".
A reviewer at Amazon, Victor Cheng describes the book as gripping, a book he could not put down and had to even skip sleep so he could finish it. He specifically was surprised how the "DevGru" team (U.S. Naval Special Warfare Development Group ,a.k.a. Seal Team 6) is selected to consist of the best of the best operatives among SEALs.

The book also describes not just how things went as per the plan in the raid, but also how many things went wrong and the contingency plan had to be executed. While the mission was overall a success, that success was made up of many failures which were corrected in real time.

In addition, the book covers the training and preparation which goes into such missions. The title of the book "No Easy Day" comes from the fact that no day is easy for this elite team of commands; every day in their lives, whether they are on an active mission or training; is a demanding day.

The author's real name "Matt Bissonnette" has since been revealed. Matt was one of the 24 commandos who raided Bin Laden's compound, tracked him down on his 3rd floor bedroom and shot him in his head while he was unarmed.

Both the hardcover print edition and the digital kindle edition of "No Easy Day: The Firsthand Account of the Mission That Killed Osama Bin Laden"  became #`1 Bestsellers among all books in their respective format at Amazon within minutes of the release past midnight earlier today.
